This journey of special needs parenting is daunting at times. The burden to see every concern, meet every need, anticipate every risk, persuade every detractor, move every mountain… it can be overwhelming.
Then I come here, to the Word. To this living Word that breathes life into those burdened places. And I read:
I lift up my eyes to the hills–
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip–
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watch over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you–
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from harm–
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121:1-8
This great God who created the Universe with His strong voice, He is watching over me and the family He has entrusted to my care. While I weary, He does not sleep. While I grow tired, He does not slumber.
He watches over me and those He has entrusted to me by day and by night. He will keep us from harm.
He watches over my coming and going now and forever.
Wow. Ponder that with me. This great God covers me and those He has entrusted to me. He is the protector, provider– allowing me and those entrusted to my care to be the protected and provided for.
He is so great and good.
