Each day, we have choices to make. One choice—one that you make each day—can drastically affect your life in astounding ways. Choose one option and you will live an abundant life unshaken by the circumstances around you. Choose the other option and you will live a reactive life, unstable and swayed by the opinions of others.
The question we face each day is this: Who do you say you are? Are you:
Overlooked …. or Chosen? – 1 Peter 2:9
Worn out … or a New Creation? – 2 Corinthians 5:17
Falling apart … or Wonderfully Made? – Psalm 139:14
Neglected … or a child of God? – John 1:12
Overcome by your circumstances … or an overcomer? – 1 John 4:4
Full of fear … or full of power, love and self-control? – 2 Timothy 1:7
Condemned by sin … or justified by faith? – Romans 5:1
Ignored by others … or heard by God? – 1 John 5:14-15
Lost in the darkness … or a city on a hill? – Matthew 5:14
A mistake … or fearfully and wonderfully made?- Psalm 139:14
Powerless … or powerful? – Philippians 4:13
Anxious… or full of divine peace?- Philippians 4:6-7
Destitute … or an heir of God?- Romans 8:17
It is so easy to believe the negative voices we hear each day. If you really think about it, we even label ourselves in negative ways. Yet Scripture describes the truth of who we really are in Christ, and those divine words paint a beautiful portrait indeed!
Know, believe and be saturated in the knowledge of what the Bible says about you, because our children are watching, and they need to know these truths, too! The world will try to pull us down, but God wants us to know we are first and foremost … His. Nothing can change that.
So it’s up to you: Who do you say you are?
As parents of special needs kids, we need to choose to believe what God says about us. Only then can we pass that knowledge on to our children so they, too, can refuse to believe any negative words that they hear. Then they can know that they, too, are divinely created, gifted and so very precious to the Lord.
We are God’s children:
Unique. Powerful. Chosen. Purposed. Beautiful.
Choose to Believe it Today!
