Your Story Isn’t Over Yet!

September 22, 2015 by Kelly Langston

Wouldn’t it be nice if God would show us what lies ahead? Do you know what I mean? I’m betting you do. We all have multiple questions to ask of God at any given moment: Are my kids in the right schools? Will they be safe there? Will we be able to pay for my child's therapies? Will you use my life, Lord, to make a difference here in some way? Should we move? Should we stay? Will I find … [Read more...]

It’s Way Beyond Me …

It's Way Beyond Me-www.SpecialNeedsParenting.net

"You make it look so easy!" This crazy life looks easy? I am so thankful people are gracious enough to tell me that I make caring for Evan look easy. But hold your horses, folks. Most days are a marathon that we have to pace ourselves to get through. This life? It's way beyond me. But I totally get this. Many people who do things often enough are able to make them look easy. Surgeons. I … [Read more...]

I Will Never Forget

September 14, 2015 by autismblessings

As last Friday came around (September 11), I kept seeing posts about "never forget," missing loved ones who left us that September day 14 years ago.  It really made me think about not forgetting where we came from, my son and I. I will never forget when he couldn't talk at all at even age 3.  He couldn't tell us his basic needs.  He would take my hand and bring it to the thing he wanted. … [Read more...]

God’s timing is perfect!

September 8, 2015 by Mike George

The basement is spotless and the stations are perfectly arranged. On one side of the room, a table to beautify nails. On the other, three plastic basins complete with soft coloured stones to perfect your feet. Plus a cosy arrangement of chairs, pillows and blankets to round out the spa setting. As I take it all in, I am awash in a wonderful feeling that our adult daughter, Tori, still takes … [Read more...]

Enough Is Enough

August 28, 2015 by Sarah

enough

Tensions have been mounting. Stress has been compounding. And the tears have been falling. Hard. Blame it on moving, transitioning and settling into a new home, a new church, a new school, and meeting new faces at every turn. Point to the three boys between ages 7-11 under one roof attempting to survive until adulthood - with parents intact. Or let autism take the fall for the havoc wreaked upon … [Read more...]

Preparing for the Test

August 17, 2015 by Cindi Ferrini

When we are in the midst of challenge, we must remember - it's only a test!

In the midst of all we had going on with the newness of understanding we had a child with special needs: the emotions, the changes, the challenges, the sleepless nights, anger, worry, sadness, grief, joy, fun, tough times, hope for a healing, we heard something like this, “BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. This is a test. This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is only a test. Had it been a … [Read more...]
